We make every effort to provide healthy meals to the folks we serve. Most of our meals include a meat, a cooked vegetable and/or a garden salad, one “ooey gooey” or starchy food, a fruit, and a dessert. This seems like allot of food be we serve a meal as though we were serving a “Family Sunday Dinner”.
Many of the people we serve do not have the privilege of eating healthy meals prepared by someone other than themselves and we are out to show them how valuable they are in God’s eyes. While we are mostly dependent on the foods donated to us, we do shop out some of our items from retail stores to round out our meals.
We also provide several hundred sack meals each month to children’s programs we support. These are a great way to get food to children quickly and efficiently without interrupting program instruction and mentoring times.
